The Maxtra cartridges from Brita, sold in packs of 3, are equipped with a unique, quadruple filtration system, which is 20% more efficient in reducing limescale formation than ordinary cartridges. The improved efficiency of the Maxtra cartridge also works in reducing the presence of chlorine that often affects the taste and smell of tap water. These cartridges also retain the aluminium contained in tap water and other heavy metals sometimes found in water such as copper or lead, as well as pesticides and organic impurities. The filtered water from the Maxtra cartridges is ideal for hot or cold drinks, meal preparation, and preserving the longevity of kitchen appliances by reducing limescale formation.

These make a huge difference to the taste of your water. I use the filtered water for my ice cubes and i use it to fill my kettle.
The difference the filtered water makes to a nice cup of tea is quite amazing.

Nice clear water comes out of these filters. It does taste slightly better than London water, so I feel they must be doing something! Like most buyers I have a vague lingering suspicion that these make little difference, but who knows. I wish these were cheaper, but avoided buying the cheaper per unit years supply offer after reading a purchaser feedback that Amazon doesn't really have them in stock! Amazon, raise your game - get the 12 for the price of 9 in stock and ready to ship, and you'll sell some serious units.
If you can buy in bulk, then these are a good price. December 2, 2006

Brita Maxtra Cartridges are used in water filters and in water filtering kettles. Lasting 4 weeks each, this three pack is a good price for an almost 3 month supply. If you do order them take advantage of the free delivery option by bundling them with other purchases (leave them on your wish list or save for later list) or by bulk buying. I have not seen these cheaper on the internet from a reputable source if you get free delivery.
The water quality is, I find, of a noticeably better taste. Ideal for those whose water supplies are particularly hard or for those who prefer a more pure taste to their water.
I think the filters make my morning cup of tea a little better!
A recommend purchase for Brita filter jugs or kettles, though if you have not got one go and treat yourself; you're worth it.

These seem to be the best value ive seen at just under 10 for 3. To make the most of the offer you just need to up your spend to get free postage.
