There is no easy way..... May 5, 2008 I gave up after reading this book but it wasn't easy. The book certainly helps you over come the physiological addition of smoking. It goes through all the smoker excuses: I smoke when I'm stressed, I can't enjoy a drink without a smoke, I'll get fat if I stop etc etc. It was Allen's myth busting that helped me but you have to want to give up in the first place, I have a number of friends who gave up and then started again.
I am very very happy I gave up,it will be 3 years in September.
Good luck!
Kick your cigarettes into touch April 26, 2008 I feel it's about time I reviewed this book. I've waited because I read it roughly one and a half years ago, and wanted to prove to myself that it truly does work. I think it's safe to say that it does! I've not smoked a single cigarette since I read the final chapter and put out my final cigarette. The change in my attitude was extraordinary. Before, when stubbing out a cigarette, I would already be missing it like an old friend, and looking forward to the next one. But when I stubbed out that final cig, it was with absolute glee! I felt totally in control, happy and empowered by decision. Thanks to Allen Carr, I see cigarettes for what they are. You'll look at smokers with pity, not envy. The crazy thing is, what he says in the book, you already know. But somehow, he removes the blinkers. An amazing book.
HIghly recommended to all smokers April 8, 2008 I started reading this book and could barely put it down. Without actually telling me anything I didn't already know, Allen Carr removed my desire to smoke altogether. After failing MISERABLY with the willpower method I was astonished to find just how easy it can be to stop smoking.
It has been three weeks and I haven't touched a cigarette and fully believe I never will again.
If you want to stop smoking, try this book...it really lives up to its name.

Err, no - sorry. I tried this book after having heard and read about the successes of so many others, but apparently I seem to be in the group of what Allen Carr describes as `'less than 10 percent''. I am not even a `confirmed smoker' as I desperately wanted to quit. I too, had tried a lot of the traditional methods to no avail. I really gave this book a shot but the `solemn promise' I made myself just didn't do it for me. Happily now, I am smoke free, but no thanks to Mr Carr. I now enjoying a smoke free life thanks to Dr.Gurgevich!
Works! And it is sooooo easy... March 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was a 1 pack a day smoker for 10 years. Not much by some standarts but enough for me...
I had already dropped the booze using Allen Carr's "Easyway to Quit Drinking" so I knew this couldn't fail... Still I had my doubts as to how easy it was really going to be.
And it was so easy it's scary... There are some withdrawal pangs for a few days (3 days in my case) but they are so mild and you actually enjoy it because soon you will feel them no more...
Now I have more energy, more money, more health! And don't have to worry if I have cigs or not for the evening of if a place I go to has a smoking area.
Just the freedom is incredible!
Thank you Allen! Even in death you still save lives!
