It's been six months since Tony's collision with a bus - remarkably he isn't dead, but he sure isn't the same person. Sid can't get his head around the fact that his best mate is a shadow of the man he's always looked up to. And to top it off he finally got the girl, Cassie, only to have her whisked off to Scotland. Sod's law. But to Cassie it's totally OK, one day she'll come back and they'll live happily ever after - yeah right. Michelle is lost without Tony too, and her Mum has gone and married yet another man - but this time there's a step-sister involved who's intent on trying to make a move on her mates. Maxxie's got hell at home too because his Dad doesn't want him to follow his dream of being a dancer. Even Anwar has changed since he bagged himself a secret girlfriend called Sketch. Jal is throwing off the good girl image and letting her hair down. And Chris - well getting expelled wasn't his finest hour - but now the party animal is stepping out on his own. And while all around is falling apart, it's Tony's little sister Effy who's taking control.

Yet again they changed the music...why? May 6, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
What I don't understand is why do channel 4 not pay out for the original music used in the series, in one of the best moments of the series at the end of episode 9 when adele 'hometown glory' is used, it makes the scene. now its just not the same as the music has been changed. I love this show and when it's shown on tv at first is when it is the best but why must they alter the music.
Disappointing April 23, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I really enjoyed the first season and tried to keep the faith whilst enduring what could at best be described as an 'ordinary' follow up season. Cassie just becomes a pain to watch, shoddy story lines and not a patch on the fantastic first helping of this potentially cult drama.
Hopefully the third season will redeem the program and this will just be a blip on a great show.
Soundtrack remains awesome.

The second season has just finished on E4 and I would reccomend it to anyone who enjoys a mixture of comedy and drama. The show never takes itself too seriously yet at the same time the characters are incredibly endearing and certain events are very moving. Skins is very much a black comedy. The show has become much darker and it deals with realistic situations teenagers have to deal with. Although I have just watched the whole series I will definatly be buying the second season (I already have the first) as it adds new dimenisions to the characters and evidently is very much re-watchable television. This is proberally the best British TV series out there at the moment, perhaps even surpassing the heights of Shameless.
Not so great April 10, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I myself am a great fan of the show and i loved every second of the first series. Soundtrack, posters you name it, i have it. I will buy this DVD when released although for someone who hasn't watched skins before i would definately buy the first series instead. Theres more comedy and its a lot more up beat, whereas this series is quite dark and very deppressing at times.
Even better than the first season! April 8, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I completely and UTTERLY disagree with the reviewer who decided to award this show a 1/5. You'd recommend the OC? Now I've lost all respect for your opinion.
The show is fantastic. A gritty, witty and humourous take on British teenage life. But we all know what the show's about, or atleast we will if we bother to watch or research it. What we're interested in is the boxset!
American fans of Skins will be pleased with the definite nod to their demographic, with an episode being set in New York and a DVD extra that goes behind the scenes of the New York shoot.
As always, the DVD contains all the Unseen Skins available online, as well as the FANTASTIC series 2 trailers and teasers. I'm particularly fond of the trailer with the awesome song by Blonde Redhead.
This boxset offers a complete experience. E4 try to leave nothing out.
However, if you've not bought the season 1 boxset yet - I'd recommend you get the superior season 1 and 2 boxset instead. It costs a pound or two more, and you don't get any bonus extras - but it has awesome packaging and your original cast collection's all in one place.
