This is a really clever product and saves heaps of time by both drying and straightening your hair. I am not quite sure how it works but if you put the special attachment on the dryer you can both dry and straighten at the same time. The dryer is quite powerful with different heat settings and a cool shot which is handy and it does have a nozzle to enable it to be used as a normal dryer which is good, particularly since it is quite compact and so good for packing when going on holiday. When you attach the special comb it will straighten your hair as well. It is a bit strange until you get used to it but once you get the knack of using it with the attachment it really does work. - Divide your hair into easier to manage sections.
- Adjust the tension control on the side of the dryer. Start on the lowest tension setting and increase the tension until you feel the hair is being gripped between the straightening plates. 1 is the lowest and 4 is the highest setting.
- Holding the end of your hair section with one hand, place the dryer into your hair, near the root and ensuring the de-tangling comb is facing down.

i have very wavy frizzy hair and i used to use my straightens every day after drying. my first use of this hair dryer was a little weird, but you get used to it quickly... the best thing is to take a section of hair, and grip firmly from the bottom with one hand while the other hand brings the dryer downwards. much much smoother result than a normal hair dryer. now just save my straightens for special occasions. recommend!

I have to rush in the morning, so don't get time to wash, dry and straighten. So these are great. I have lots of wavy hair sand it glides through perfectly. I have had these ince they 1st came out and use them nearly everyday and still going strong. I just thought i needed to add some positve comments against the negative ones. I don't work for Babyliss.

I bought this for my mother last Christmas (Christmas 2007). First of all she struggled to use it, saying it just doesn't seem to do anything, so then I said I'd try it out on her hair for her next time. Well, she was right! Her hair didn't even seem to grip in anything. We tried turning the tension wheel but nothing even moved to change the tension! I wouldn't even recommend it as a regular hairdryer if the straightening appliance doesn't work, because it's not the most powerful hairdryer around. Absolute rubbish. Babyliss have let themselves down. Their products are usually of high standard!

This hairdryer allows you to achieve that same feeling you get when you leave a salon after having had your hair blow dried professionally. I had seen the adverts and even read the reviews on Amazon but was still slightly dubious. However, I received this as a Christmas Gift from hubby and I love it. The only reason I havn't given it 5 stars is because of three things:
1. Use a set of straigtening brushes to hold your hair rather than follow the instructions which advises holding the end of your hair with your hand (too hot!).
2. This is not the hairdryer for a complete novice or if you just use the hair dryer to blast your hair.
3. I am not sure how well the straighteners would work on short hair.

I've been using my BEliss for over a year now.
I found the instructions were really confusing, so ignore them.
As long as the comb part of the head goes through your hair first, with the (cheap looking) suede part going over your hair last you can't go too far wrong.
You MUST dry your hair completely though.
My hair is very very thick and curly. I section my hair, and dry each section COMPLETELY with the BELiss, then a quick go with the straighteners, before moving to the next section. It takes me less time to straighten my hair now than it takes my hairdresser.
I didn't give 5 stars simply because it doesn't give a 'dead straight' result. I think that's really asking too much though, especially at this price.
It takes a lot of practice to get the hang of the BElis, but I find it much easier than a standard hairdryer and a brush. Stick with it, and make sure you dry completely!
