  Excellent product, but not quiet... March 18, 2008

This product takes some time to setup, with 15 minutes preparing the filter and waiting for it to saturate, etc.
But once up and running it's an excellent product. This product has never leaked on me (compared to my other humidifier).
However I was disappointed that I couldn't sleep with it on. It would bubble a lot. And since there's only one setting (on or off), there's no way to stop the loud bubbling. I would describe it like a kettle-always-boiling-on.

This unit has enabled us to have some sleep in the midst of a terrible bout of colds. Also both my daughters have asthma and as soon as the unit gets going their coughing and wheezing is much less significant allowing them to get to sleep. We now have 2 (one in each girls' room) and I think I will get another one for our room as I too have asthma, and it has been great for a sinus infection too! A must have for all homes.

We have a baby boy with eczema and have to say that it has been excellent for his skin as it helps prevent the central heating induced dryness that can lead to itching and discomfort particularly in winter.
It has also been a lifesaver when anyone in the family has a cold as it really opens up the airways (again particularly good for babies). In this respect, warm air humidifiers such as this model are preferable to the regular kind.
The night-light and aromatherapy well are thoughtful touches too.
The filters and cleaning products are expensive but worth it, in my opinion, for such an effective product.
Use with caution in small rooms as it is rather powerful and can create your own "mini sauna" complete with water running down the walls!

Whilst I have had no problems with the humidifier, I would like to make potential buyers aware that you have to replace the water purification filter approximately every 2 - 3 months which you can only buy from the manufacturer at a cost of 7.99 for the BWM5075 model (which I purchased 4 months ago). The Cleaning fluid (which is also only available from the manufacturer) is also expensive in my opinion at 9.99 for a bottle. The bottle supplied with the humidifier has only lasted 4 months. Buyers beware!

I've not bought this item from Amazon, as I can't really tell much about it from the description, which as of 6 feb 2007 describes a slow cooker...
