I have had several hair straighteners before this and none have lived up to these. All previous ones pulled out or severely dried out my hair. I found that I often wanted to replace them within a year.
I have had these straigheners for 4 years now and they are still in excellent working order, never pull my hair, and leave my hair sleek and shiny. I haven't been that gentle with them, and despite all the knocks & bangs they are still in one piece & working.
In my view, its not worth buying cheaper versions as it's a false economy. You just end up replacing them sooner rather than later. Buying a more expensive professional set benefits your hair and pocket in the long run.

I interviewed my wife on the matter of her beloved GHD straighteners.
"Oh my gosh. They are amazing. They are CONSISTENTLY brilliant. It is so freeing to know that never will I suffer from a irreversible bad hair day! I've had them for 4 years now and cannot recommend them highly enough. I have on occasion borrowed friend's imitation ceramic straighteners....NO COMPARISON. WORTH EVERY PENNY."

My friend owns a pair and i love using them they straighten and shine my frizy thick hair and you can straighten it REALLY quickly
I would recommend them to any girl who wants straight, smooth goergous hair

I don't know if it just mk3 straighteners with GHD. I'm now on my 3rd pair because every pair had the same problem.Just under a year the light would cut out whilst i was using these irons and then they refused to turn on. I use these irons every day, and when they work their fantastic. I wanted to belive in GHD so much that everytime they broke, i went back to have them changed thinking, the next pair will be fine. I was wrong. they all had the same problem. My stylist say's her's are fine and my friend never has had this problem.For me though, 3 pairs of GHd's. All gone wrong, for the price they want isn't fair on the customer. I'm now demanding a full refund to go elsewhere, to find a more reliable company
