1 out of 5 stars 6 Second Abs-olute Garbage   May 4, 2008
4 out of 4 found this review helpful

This 6 second abs was a replacement for an original that I bought because one of the bands had broken, I purchased what was advertised as an original 6 Second Abs but when it arrived the item was obviously a complete rip off with sub-sub-standard manufacture, stick on lables and flimsey red and yellow stretch bands. The screws had started popping through the thin plastic body.

1 out of 5 stars It does work BUT NOT FOR LONG   March 14, 2008

I bought this item and whilst it last you can really feel it working. For no reason whatsoever the product loses its resistance and becomes unusable.

1 out of 5 stars dont buy   March 13, 2008

its rubbish, dont buy it, total gimic. tried it, and soon as i tried it i knew i made a mistake. hurts my back using it, and i personanly dont think it targets the right area. you will get bored, its too jolty and to big to put anywhere! you may as well lay on the floor, legs together, and lift ur legs, then slowly bend your knees and bring it up to ur chest slighty. never letting your legs touch the ground and repeat. a great lower ab work out.

really, dont buy it!

5 out of 5 stars Yes It Does Work For Sure   February 26, 2008

Hi,
I bought this item, just recently ignoring all the mixed reviews because I have back complaints which rule out conventional sit-ups or crunches. Using the machine on the near lowest resitance (with two yellow bands in), and following the DVD strictly (in the seated position), I struggled in the middle of level 2 and pooped at level 3. The burn is GREAT and I know that with comittment and a good diet this kit will do what it promises! main thing is, it really does get the abs burning with minimal movement. It looks great, feels like a toy and is fun to pick up and use too.
I highly recommend this if you plan to really stick at it. Oh, and like the first reviewer said, this is not for weight loss, you will need cardio work and dieting for that!

Thanks.

4 out of 5 stars Better than situps   January 24, 2008

This is what you get when you buy the 6 second abs:
* something that, when lying back, is very good at working out the abdominal areas
* is lightweight, but liable to break if treated heavily (I haven't broken mine but can imagine some big fella picking it out of the box and breaking it in the first minute - keeping it unbroken just requires some care and doesn't interefere in the workout, just knowing how much pressure to put on it)

* it won't make you like the people on the box! Not without diet and change of lifestyle. Not nice to hear, but that's the same with all these exercise equipment - if you want to give em a workout though, as I said before, it's far better than situps (doesn't work the back as much)

The other positions they suggest I haven't found too easy or effective but the lie-down method really does work the abs. Overall, for the price at the moment it's worth a shot - but just be gentle and know that you won't become Arnie using it.
