a washout April 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
In an attempt to be green I bought the Tefal quick cup. It broke within a week and thereafter produced no hot water. Even when it did work, the water was warm rather than boiling, and it sputtered all over the place, which is not very safe if you have children in the house. Frankly, it was a serious, and expensive, disappointment. I wish I had stuck to an old fashioned kettle.
Hot water i think not April 26, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
After watching the TV and seeing this product, i thought " I want one of those" as i love to drink Tea. Now the looks are not all that but i thought if it did what it says it did, then it will be a winner. It never delivered. I have never heard something so loud when the water is pouring. I mean loud. I live in flats and i swear everybody can hear when i press that red button. You have to hold the cup right up to the nozzle as if you dont, the water splats everywhere but the cup. Also it states that it takes 3 seconds, when in fact it takes about 20 seconds. Now if you make one cup of tea or maybe 2 then this product will save you time, but if you are making a round of tea, then DONT buy this as the Manual states that after you have used one container full of water, you have to leave the kettle for about ten mins to cool down or something. How Crap is that. Do not throw away your old kettle like i did if you buy this product.
What a total con. April 23, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The Tefal quick cup is a total waste of time. I measured the temperature of the water in a room temp cup. The best I could get was 80C and that was the second delivery of water. The first output was 75C and neither is good enough to make a brew of tea from a tea bag.Even for coffee, by the time I've added milk and walked to the lounge it's mildly warm. It's going in the bin. One thing this device has done, it's taught me to measure the exact amount of water needed in a flat element 3kw kettle. I too wished I had read some reports. I bought it on a spur of the moment whim.
Waste of money April 21, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Shame I didnt read these write ups. Bought one having seen the advert, 3 seconds... well and the rest. 3 seconds before it starts hissing steam into the cup. Warm water is what you end up with, OK for coffee so if you only drink instant coffee or hot chocolate then its worth more to you, but I'm a tea drinker and the water isn't hot enough for tea to brew. The construction is poor and mine packed up after 10 cups... so its gone back for a refund.. shame as it seemed a good idea. If a better model comes out I would reconsider, if I knew the water was boiling and the thing was built to last.
It is, what it is! April 16, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Just purchased even after all the not so good reviews. As per the title, it is what it says it is - "Quick Cup". You get a good hot drink quickly to drink straight away. If you want want a drink to snuggle up to, buy a kettle, but if you want a drink in a hurry and a lots of them, this is for you. Yes is makes a bit of noise and spits a bit but is is the perfect temperature for coffee and normal Tea drinkers, so treat yourself.
